Cyber security for SMEs: Our mission & vision
Trovent was founded in 2019 by Alexander Caswell, Christopher Loch, Sebastian Schlitte and Tobias Nieberg with a clear goal: To support mid-sized companies to significantly improve their IT security capabilities and overall resilience of their IT infrastructure.
We’re always at our customers’ side, helping them to cope with the ever-increasing demands, complexity and volume of information in the IT and information security environment. Rather than just being a service provider to our customers, we strive to be a long-term partner.
Why we focus on the mid-market
In contrast to large corporations, medium-sized companies usually do not have dedicated experts for IT security and do not operate their own Security Operations Center (SOC). There are many reasons for this: A shortage of specialists, tight budgets, a lack of expertise or low risk awareness at decision-making level.
However, a capable and reliable IT infrastructure and its related processes form the backbone of a modern company. The maturity and quality of a company’s IT security should not depend on its size!
This is why we founded Trovent Security GmbH in Bochum, directly in the Center for IT Security (ZITS) and in the vicinity of the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB). Located at the heart of Germany in its largest conurbation, with its strong focus on IT security, Bochum is the perfect location to support medium-sized companies throughout the country with our solutions. And it enables us to attract new talent to our growing team.

With our prevention, detection and response solutions, we offer our customers a wide range of services in the IT security cycle.
A coherent IT concept always consists of a variety of protective measures. Neither the sole focus on prevention, nor on detection and response makes sense.
This is why we offer our customers the option of using our solutions individually or in an effective combination, depending on their specific needs and circumstances. Our mutual objective: To improve the resilience of the organisation’s IT infrastructure and related business processes as much as possible!

What makes Trovent special
We started with four people. In the meantime, Trovent has grown to 30 employees. Nevertheless, we remain a self-financed company. This allows us to maintain our independence and keep the company’s direction in our own hands.
Close-knit and multinational – that’s our team spirit. Everyone is proud to be part of the company. A company that is growing and in which every employee makes a significant contribution to its ongoing development.
We work flexibly for our customers at our headquarters in Bochum, at our customers’ premises and remotely in our home offices.
We’re confident that the next few years will have plenty of challenges in store for us.
The future of mid-sized enterprises in Germany and Europe in the field of information security will continue to be characterised by rapidly advancing digitisation, an IT security environment with continued high risk exposure and a substantial shortage of people with the required skills.
